Robots And Tea

Would you like to be served tea by a robot? That's a strange question but it's an opportunity that you can now take at Thirsk Garden Centre, where they have installed two robots on wheels which will deliver refreshments to your table. They are called Alfred and Petunia and I've had the experience of watching them at work.

I ordered my cappuccino at the desk and paid in cash, just to stay in touch with the old-fashioned ways.

I then took my seat with the “tracker” device that tells robot or human where I am sitting/ and before long I spotted Alfred trundling steadily and silently along.
